I was an elementary school teacher for 10 years. I have been working at APLH for 4 years now. I started as a lead teacher for the infants and have worked in a few of the other age groups.  I am now a teacher floater who greets your precious child at the door each morning & afternoon.

Teacher Floater

I have been working in the center for two wonderful years! I was born and raised here in Stamford, CT, and I have my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina. My summers in college were spent working at the Italian Center of Stamford as a camp counselor for ages 4-6. After graduating, I started working here at APLH, and I’ve been here ever since. While working my first year at APLH, I spent a lot of time working in the Pre–K as one of the assistant teachers, but now, as a floater here at APLH, I go in and out of all the classrooms when needed. I am currently in school to fulfill my dreams of being a nurse, but I love the amazing kids here at APLH!

I am very passionate about children! I have 6 years of hands-on experience in caring for children as young as 1 month up to 4 years old. My goal is to care for children in a daycare setting while providing them with an environment conducive to growing and learning to their full capacity. I’ve worked in this career of childcare, for over 15 years. It is a privilege to be a part of their lives, to nurture and guide them as they grow and learn. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is witnessing the growth and progress of each child. From learning to crawl and walk, to mastering new skills and forming friendships, it's amazing to see their development first-hand. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a positive difference in a child's life.

Glaucia Maturi

Founder and Program Director

My passion for teaching young children began in 2009 when I came to the USA as an au pair. Originally, I earned a bachelor’s degree in law in Brazil, but my journey took a different path when I discovered my true calling—working with young children. In 2015, I earned a degree in Early Childhood Education, which solidified my commitment to this field.

Over the past decade as a daycare owner and director, I’ve immersed myself in learning everything about children’s development, from providing love and support to fostering their growth and education. It’s an honor to nurture and inspire the next generation, and I am deeply passionate about creating a positive, enriching environment where children, families and teachers can thrive and feel supported.

APLH means everything to me; it is a dynamic and supportive community where my passion and love are fully realized. This journey has been profoundly rewarding.
